The canvas-lined Outfitter jacket is the padded version of the classic Outfitter, one of Filson's most beloved outerwear pieces. It retains the original jacket's 10-ounce, tightly woven canvas, designed to withstand brambles, thorns, and splinters. It also features a flannel lining with quick-drying polyester padding for colder, rainier days.

The sleeves are lined with polyester and slide easily over other layers. The corduroy-lined collar, when turned up, provides protection from the wind. The hand-warmer pockets also serve as flaps for the cargo pockets—a design inspired by Filson's vintage coats.
