The Tin Cloth Field Jacket is one of the signature jackets of Filson, the Seattle-based brand founded in 1897. The jacket combines the design of the brand's historic raincoats with the functionality of its iconic hunting jackets. It is made of Tin Cloth, a 14-ounce waxed cotton canvas developed by Filson over a century ago to withstand the rain of the Pacific Northwest.

The cape-style shoulders minimize the number of seams exposed to the rain. The expandable front pockets, originally designed to separate new cartridges from spent ones, now hold everyday items. At the back, a nylon-lined zippered pocket accommodates bulky items, while the collar and hand-warmer pockets are lined with Mackinaw wool.
